Dear Friend #4

Dear Friend,

For me, our friendship was always one-of-a-kind. I’d never experienced a friendship where I could be both a child and an adult. Maybe it’s just that I’m so resistant to change that I couldn’t keep up with your transition into the lovely person you are now. I recognize that individuals evolve. It’s simply a shame I wasn’t able to change with you. Even if I won’t be able to fit into your current circles, I’ll do my best to try. I miss our chats, our terrible jokes, and our friendship as it was.
I hope we stay friends for a long time, regardless of the degree of closeness. You see, I have a terrible time letting go.

Love,
O.
